January 2025
I’m sitting here in the warmth of my kitchen today with this horrid cough that is doing the rounds, so I am trying to make myself useful whilst not spreading my germs in the shop!
We’ve made the New Year resolution for 2025 to be more active on our Social Media, and keep our blogs up to date…. As lots of you will know, social media is not my passion so I will have to dig deep for this and apologies in advance if it is as not as polished and professional as some, but I’m the wrong side of 40 to change much but will try my best to keep you all updated on the day to day stuff going on with us throughout the year!
First, some words about Christmas…. WOW! It was fab! A bit of context; this was our first Christmas just running the shop as we have previously had our stalls and warehouse in Cheltenham Town centre. We really did miss being out in town but still couldn’t be happier with how everything went. We had so many amazing compliments and fabulous feedback on our wreaths, bouquets, planters and gifts and were so touched by everyone’s support. Personally, I was bowled over by how positive and upbeat the team were. It is always daunting when there’s a big change and the determination to enjoy what we do best and stay positive really made it worth the tough decision to close the Promenade stall last year. Thank you also to everyone who came to one of our Wreath Workshops throughout November and December. They were so much fun and it was lovely to see people get to know each other and enjoy the festive spirit. I have already pencilled in dates for next year as I am trying to be as organised and I can and can’t wait to do them again this Christmas!
Looking ahead to 2025, we have a few plans in mind. I definitely want to carry on hosting more workshops. Lots of people have asked for sessions on making hand-tied bouquets and basket arrangements and I am looking forward to creating a spring bulb wreath event so keep an eye out for details on them going soon.
Before that, we have another exciting development coming up with the shop as we will soon be serving a selection of coffees, teas and locally made treats. (If I don’t eat them all first!) We’ve been planning this quietly in the background for a few weeks and hope to start getting it in place from the end of this week so apologies for any noise for a few days as we set up our new till and drinks areas. We hope you’ll pop in and try us out when you are nearby!
Before that gets started though, we have been planning Valentines Day over the last couple of weeks as we know it will whizz round pretty quickly. As usual, the price of Roses and most red and pink flowers have all increased for that week so we have been having a good think about how we can still provide you with the best selection and value for money and so I have spent a few hours today updating the website with our Valentines Day range of bouquets and a special offer of 5% off if you order yours before Wednesday 5th February. As of Saturday I will try to pop some regular tips and hints about how to get the best value flowers over Valentines Day and also a bit of myth busting and behind the scenes info about what Florists really think about the event!
I think that’s enough waffling from me for now, and I still need to go post something on our social pages which I have been telling myself to do all morning! As always, please drop us an email, message, call or pop into the shop if you have any questions, suggestions, or feedback about our little business. We wouldn’t be here without you! Love, Lucy xx
